DIY Valentine’s Day Cards on Marbled Paper
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so it’s time to start thinking of the perfect Valentines Day card for your special someone or for the kiddos to take to school. These cards are the perfect project for kids and adults alike. It’s fun and a little messy, but the results are stunning!
There are 2 parts to creating these cards
Step 1: Marble your paper
What you need:
White lightweight cardstock or printer paper
White shaving cream
Food coloring
Paper towels
Baking dish or cookie sheet (large enough to fit your paper)
Toothpicks
Start by creating a layer of shaving cream in your baking dish. Add a few drops of food coloring spread out over the layer of shaving cream. Use a toothpick to swirl the colors all around, then use a rubber spatula or a spoon to swirl a bit more. You want there to be areas of color and areas of white all throughout. You don’t want any globs of food coloring because they will smear and ruin the design. I used dark pink, orange and red for my Valentine’s Day cards, but you could use any colors! Let the kids choose! They’ll love it!
Next, take your paper and place it face down into the shaving cream. Press the paper down so the shaving cream is touching every part of the page. Carefully pull the page out starting with one corner. Lay your page on a flat surface and carefully wipe off the shaving cream with your paper towels. Turn the page color side down to dry. Repeat the steps for each sheet of paper. You can reuse the shaving cream and slightly mix or add more ingredients as necessary until you’ve colored all of your sheets!
Tip: if your page curls a bit while drying, you can use a warm iron on the lowest setting (without steam) to flatten it out.

Step 2: Create your Valentine’s Day cards
I created my Valentines on my computer and printed them out on my colored sheets. You could also hand decorate them with markers or sticky letters like these! There are infinite options at this point!
If you try it out, let me know how it goes in the comments!
Happy crafting! 🙂
