New Year’s Resolutions
Let’s cut to the chase – New Year’s resolutions and the “New year = New me” mindset are far from realistic! Right? We’re moms! We are short on time, sleep and energy. Nothing is going to change overnight. A simple wish will not do the job.
That being said, having goals is so important!
Goals keep you focused, motivated and intentional! As moms, we are constantly overwhelmed with to-do lists that are never ending. If you don’t have goals, the days become monotonous, tiresome and exhausting, which is just the start of becoming burnt out! (If you’re already feeling burnt out, check out the free self care challenge, here, to get you back on track!)
Goals can help you! You need goals that you can break down into actionable “mini goals” and daily tasks so that every day, week and month, you have the opportunity to WIN. When you have small wins, you build self-confidence and motivation. Small wins turn into bigger and bigger wins, and soon, you’re unstoppable!
Achieving your goals
I know. I know… “Terresa, how am I supposed to stay motivated to achieve these goals when I’m busy?!” Trust me, I totally understand! I’m with you, mama. Its tough to stay motivated and to keep focused on a goal or target over a long period of time, but you can do it! All you need is a little bit of guidance.
Enter the Best Self Co. Self Journal. This tool is going to be your best friend! The idea is that you make goals for the quarter/year/lifetime and break them down into smaller, more actionable targets to help keep you on track throughout the year. Theres inspiring quotes on each daily page, plus, it’s chalk full of helpful tools and prompts that will continue to keep you on track to meet your big goals!
The best thing you can do once you set goals is get a buddy (or two!) to hold you accountable! Tell them your goals. Share your plans, steps you’re taking and your wins / losses. The more you share and the more they ask, the more motivated you will stay, so you have positive news to share. The buddy system is the oldest trick in the book, but it is old faithful! Personally, the only way I’ve ever stayed motivated to go to the gym consistently is to get a friend who was willing to hold me accountable for it.
Yep, it’s that easy!
Now you’re ready to get out there and crush your goals this year! Cheers to living your best life! 🥂
